What is a micro-credential?

A micro-credential is a recognition of demonstrated competency in a particular learning outcome. Micro-credentials differ from traditional professional development systems or higher education offerings in that they focus on evidence of skills and ability, rather than “seat time” logged in learning. Where does the name "Project MOMENTUM" come from?

The name of the project is an acronym for "Micro-Credentialing Options for Minnesota Educators Navigating Transformative Understandings of Multilingualism".

How much does it cost to participate in Project MOMENTUM?

Project MOMENTUM is fully funded by a National Professional Development grant (Award #T365Z220119) from the U.S. Department of Education Office of English Language Acquisition. There is no cost to teachers, schools or districts to participate in grant-funded activities.
